What we do
We use sport as a medium to tackle socio-cultural issues which exist within our local communities.
We deliver weekly community football sessions for young people aged 8-13 years old and a weekly netball session for females of all ages. Over 50 participants, from more than 10 different ethnic backgrounds, engage per week.
Through participating, beneficiaries develop friendships with people from different cultural backgrounds. Moreover, we incorporate discussion-based life skill workshops into our sessions which allows participants to develop holistically.
To further the experience for our participants, we have also delivered the following:
- Intercity exchange events with participants from Leicester and London.
- Holiday camps comprised of study support, trampolining, boxing and outdoor sports.
- Life skills and educational workshops delivered by local members of the community.
- Day-trips and excursions to broaden the horizons of our participants and promote development.”
