What we do
We deliver weekly community Football sessions for young people aged 7-13 years old. Our aim is to use sport as a medium to tackle socio-cultural issues which exist within our local communities.
Through the football sessions young people benefit from developing friendships with people from different cultural backgrounds. We incorporate discussion based life skill workshops into our sessions which allows participants to develop holistically.
To further the experience for our participants, we have hosted events in collaboration with Salaam Peace London and also other local Leicester based sports organisations.
On a weekly basis we engage with 40 young people and bring together participants from 8 different ethnic backgrounds.
This holiday we ran a winter camp for young people aged 9-12. Our camp provided participants with access to homework support, life skills workshops and outdoor sports. During the camp children were also afforded the opportunity to experience activities that they otherwise would not have access to(e.g. trampolining, boxing etc). Key members from institutions within the community were also invited to facilitate educational workshops.
We aim to continue on this path and introduce projects specifically targeted at different age demographics within the community.
